Seasons - Autumn
|
It looks like second springtime - that’s how autumn on Crete looks like. The ear-splitting sound of cicadas keeps the noise some decibel down. The first rain in the middle of sepember refreshes my soul just like the fields. Three days after the nature turns back to green and the first herbs growing up. It’s a nice contrast between them and the gold colour dried thistles beside the road. Looking at them i feel a bit blue and remember summertime. But the days are still like summer and the sea wonderful warm. Little delicate wild flowers take their way through the hard dried ground and heavy bunches of grapes hangs high at the vines. The branches of the olive trees bend under the weight of their fruits, which will be picked soon. The rocks - washed from the rain - are shining in sunlight and time by time some of them even twinkle. It’s the best time for nicest sunsets, when heaven turns cloudy in the evening and reflects the light in each shade. Oh, so sorry - this sounds in German much nicer!
